"We had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our honeymoon dinner at Restaurant 1792, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make the evening special with thoughtful touches that made us feel truly celebrated. The food was phenomenal—every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour, showcasing the chef’s creativity and attention to detail. It was a perfect balance of elegance and comfort, making the experience unforgettable. The service was exceptional. The entire team was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our night perfect. They anticipated every need without being intrusive, which made us feel completely relaxed and cared for. If you’re looking for an extraordinary dining experience with incredible food and outstanding hospitality, Restaurant 1792 is the place to be."
"The Myrtle’s OMG! There are very few words amazing enough to describe this place. Between the history and stories, the amazing grounds, and the atmosphere, this place would be worth the stop anyway. The food is stunning. We started with the fire baked bread. It is cooked on an open flame and it is incredible. Then we had the short rib and the red fish. The short rib was so flavorful and rich that it should be illegal. The grits and sauce complement it perfectly. The redfish was really good, but the crawfish risotto was good beyond words. I think it could be the best side I have ever tasted. The flavor was bold and the rice was perfectly cooked. This is officially my new favorite meal of all time. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Food is cooked on an open flame with an amazing grill system that is fun to watch. The wood fire makes the room cozy and warm. Our server, Maddy was great! I have lived 45 minutes from here for a while and never been here. We are spending the night and hoping the nights as good as the meal. My advice if you are considering eating here is that it is worth the drive, cost and chance of meeting a ghost."
"We had dinner at Restaurant 1796 while staying at The Myrtles Plantation, and it was such a great experience. We sat at the bar by the fire, which ended up being one of my favorite parts of the night — getting to visit with the guys while they prepped and grilled made it feel warm and personal, not just a meal but an experience. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous, the service was fast and genuinely friendly, and everything we had — from the food to the cocktails — was delicious. It was the perfect way to end an evening at the Myrtles. Definitely recommend if you’re in St. Francisville."
"A sophisticated cottage vibe with seriously elegant and delicious food. While traveling home from a work trip we decided to visit the famous Mrytles plantation and decided to get some brunch from the restaurant there. What an unexpected treat. The atmosphere was that of a small cottage with the wood and open hearth in which they prepare many of their dishes. The service was excellent. The mimosas were truly bottomless with the glass never emptying due to the prompt service. The food was as exquisite as any restaurant I have ever been too. Everything we had was a flavor explosion that would be extremely hard to find a complaint for. A place you must try, and we are excited to return to."
"Went for my BEarthday in January and then again the next month for my wedding anniversary/Valentine’s. The food is delicious. The drinks were superb. Everything about this place was 10/10. For my BEarthday, they brought out free bread pudding (best I’ve ever had) and ice cream. And for our anniversary, there was a card waiting on the table for us when we got there. I’m very critical of restaurant food. And this food is very good!!"
"Absolutely fabulous dinner!! Celebrated our 46th anniversary & had a wonderful time. Complimentary glass of champagne to start it off was a treat! Food was amazing…. Grilled oysters, Brussels sprouts. Fried Chicken Milanese, Hearth Steak. Bread Pudding OMG Staff was incredible"
"Took my family here on a Sunday afternoon. What a great experience! We started off with the fried brussel sprouts and the rabbit liver mousse! I like trying things I've never seen on a menu before and 1796 didn't disappoint. Then I had the smash burger. 10/10 burger I would recommend to anyone! I also tried their sour beer on tap, AMAZING! I didn't care for the cranberry one but that's okay. The bartender said they change them out frequently. Our waiting stuff was decent, could have been a little more happier to be there. Our daughter loved the place. We loved the cook in the hearth, Francis! He was amazing. I will definitely be coming back, this place stole my heart!"
"My boyfriend and I went for his birthday and toured the plantation after. The ambience was very romantic and we were sat by the window looking over the patio and garden. We got a snack trio, a dozen chargrilled oysters, and a couple of steaks. All of the above were delicious. Joe, our server, picked a nice cabernet for us to share. He was very knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back for more if it wasn’t so far."
